'ave a listen...

...not to everyone's tastes I know, but I've just found a fantastic psychedelic internet radio station, the aptly named "Technicolor (sic) Web of Sound" this link should work unless all the media players you have are wank: http://www.techwebsound.com/TWOS.pls

On an entirely unrelated note, whenever I type 'beta.blogger.com' it makes me think of beta blockers (the drug), weird.

Nouvelle Vague and London

This weekend I wanr to London with Mary to see Nouvelle Vague and generally chill. I must say, London is even suaver than I remember.

It seems Camden is where famous people live. The flat we stayed it was apparently owned by a guy from The Clash (cool) and was where Coldplay lived when they went to UCL (wainkers).

Anyhoo, Nouvelle Vague were amazing. For those of you who've never heard, listen and for those of you who have heard and have missed their only UK gig, unlucky.

I can now see why bands say they will be "touring the UK" and then just play in London - the venue was packed out, with at least 800 people there. When Nouvelle Vague last played in Leeds they apparently didn't sell out The Cockpit.

I hate to say it, but us northeners are letting the side down a bit.

Nevermind eh?

Sleep

It appears I'm having trouble sleeping. Does that happen to anyone else?

Suppose I'm feeling a little down at the moment about having very little money and a very big project that's pretty much gonna make/break my degree.

I have no ide why I'm telling people this - I didn't want to become one of those bloggers who just rambled on about their own problems like everyone who had access to the internet gave a shit...

Anyhoo, back to counting sheep.

Casino Royale

Not really one for reviews but I'd like to say a little bit about Casino Royale which my good homie Dave and I went to see today.

First of all, I thought I was going to hate this film, being a fan of old school Bond (it doesn't bother me that someone who has the resources to lauch rockets from a hollowed out volcano blackmails the international community for 1 million dollars). This was not the case, while the film itself wasn't amazing it was good and seems to have created a valid new direction for the franchise.

Second, I thought Daniel Craig would be a pathetic Bond (although LayerCake was one of my favourite films of recent years), this fear also turned out to be unfounded as within about 3 minutes he had me believing he was the man himself.

My only criticism of the film was that there was no real climax at the end and the whole resolution to the plot seems a little forced, although this film is apparently close to the book (which I haven't read but which is on its way from Internetland).

All in all Casino Royale is a well made film that managed to satisfy me as someone who loves Bond.

On another note, the soundtrack and incidental music is amazing - the title song (written and sung/wailed by Chris Cornell) is a bag of wank.

We interrupt this essay to bring you a football match..

Great.

Just as I'm getting somewhere with my 2000 word "Individual Reflective Report" I realise that that England - Holland was on TV (and by that I mean a channel I can actually watch).

Nice one Lineker.

Bastard.

This website..

...has become a bit redundant due to lack of posts.

I'm gonna try post more, so bear with me.

At the moment, at Uni, I'm directing a documentary about the regeneration of Bradford and I'm lucky enough to be working with a team of really nice people.

It is very cold.

Well, this post has broken the ice (agian), so from now on I'm gonna try and post at least once a week.

Keep it real or whatever.
